The film does not have a great production although it does have some resources that are not quite well used, such as the character of Sarah (Katheryn Winnick, Lagertha from Vikings ), who barely has a few cameos. The action scenes are correct and not abundant, so the narration is more focused on the drama and the symbolic, which at times borders on the explicit. Against stereotypical villains, whose actions are not entirely rational, Liam Neeson takes the place that once belonged to Clint Eastwood. Someone has to defend America from the barbarians who lurk both from outside and within the borders.
Jim minds his own business and cruises all over in an old get truck with his devoted great kid of-a-canine Jackson in the front seat, with a rifle and radio close by. The rifle is to battle off coyotes from his dairy cattle and the radio is his immediate line to Border Patrol (where Sarah works) in the event that he goes over anybody crossing the line into U.S. soil. He’s not out to improve life in the States in a tough situation, it’s simply that he would not like to end up tracking down heir dead bodies on his property.
