The plot is set in a post-apocalyptic world where ecosystems have collapsed. The survivors are divided into two groups: the privileged who are entrenched in citadels cut off from the rest of the world, and those who are trying to survive in a hostile environment. Vesper lives in the woods with her paraplegic father, using her skills as a bio-hacker, which are extremely useful in a world without agriculture.
Until a ship from the citadels crashes near her home, carrying a mysterious passenger. From there, Vesper will embark on a personal initiatory quest that may or may not provide humanity with a future.
Although the pitch of Vesper Chronicles appears to be classic at first glance, the long creative work and various inspirations of Kristina Buozyte and Bruno Samper make the film astonish quickly with its dystopian realism as well as a complex and generous aestheticism.
