As common as the woods/forest location is in horror, most people struggle to nail the setup, much alone a plot that flows from it. Greats like Predator, which succeeded on almost every level, serve as the foundation for Canfield’s plot, which has a good setup but includes a ridiculous element that devalues immersion.
