It would have been worth seeing on the big screen, especially for the opening sequence. At the beginning of this film, humanity has not yet heard from the zombies, until an accident triggers a “zombie war” and ends with the isolation of the entire city of Las Vegas, of which some very peculiar zombies take possession.
The narration of all this is a ghoulishly funny start. Before the volatilization of the famous casino city, a group of mercenaries decides to accept the job of robbing a safe full of money. It is no secret that Snyder has been based on Romero’s films before, in this case we only perceive a few brushstrokes. The flavor left by ‘Army of the Dead’ is more like a mixture of ‘The Mercenaries’ and ‘The Losers’. This is largely the case, although the tone may not be as expected and we must add to the film a group of undead organized in the purest ‘Ghosts of Mars’ style.
